Derek is the Founder of Guywire Advisors, an organization committed to developing highly effective leaders. Derek is also the Founder of Guywire Ministry, an organization devoted to helping men develop their relationship with God and become the leaders they were meant to be.
Derek's passion for Leadership extends to both Ministry and Marketplace organizations. Leadership capacity for both the individual and the organization is a key driver to success in life.
In addition to his role as a leader and speaker in Guywire, Derek is a Master Certified Advisor in Leadership Development with LionsLead and serves on the National Advisory Council for A Christian Ministry in the National Parks
and as an Advisor for G1 Outdoors.
Through his extensive consulting experience he works with leaders in various industries including Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Food Safety, Plastic Packaging, Microelectronic and Syntactic Materials.
Derek is passionate about mountain top experiences. As part of the Guywire journey he leads with other men an outdoor leadership and spiritual development experience known as EPIC HIKE. These trips run the gamut of trekking excursions across the country to weekend leadership schools.

DAK utilizes the assessments and skills acquired from Lions Lead, 6Seconds and John Maxwell certifications to assist leaders in various walks of life to live out their uniqueness. Nothing excites him more than to see “the lights go on” as his clients not only identify their passion but determine how they can contribute to the world.
He has lived on both coasts and in between, while raising a family. He holds a Th.M. from Dallas Seminary and is currently enrolled in a Doctorate program focused on the impact of coaching on those seeking to develop one aspect of their Spiritual Emotional Intelligence. During his travels in recent years, he has also gained a greater understanding of leadership demands while listening and learning from leaders in Kosovo, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. His models for life have been a fellow named Barnabas, “The Encourager” from the Bible and Teddy Roosevelt, the Rough Rider.
